Visit Newcastle

Newcastle is a fantastic city, with something to offer everyone. For example art lovers should head for the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art – a former grain store on the banks of the Tyne that is now home to a modern art gallery with frequently changing exhibitions – its free to enter too. Football fans might like a tour of St James Park, the home of Newcastle United and one of the UK’s most famous stadia, which sits right in the heart of the city.

Then, if all the sightseeing’s given you an appetite, head for one of the many restaurants or cafes in the Quayside area and then round off your mini cruise to Newcastle at the Discovery Museum. It tells the story of the city and its star exhibit is the 30m-long Turbinia, once the fastest ship in the world and the first to be powered by a steam turbine.

Onboard entertainment

As you sail overnight from Amsterdam to Newcastle, you’ll find so much to do and enjoy onboard. Unwind with a drink in the bars, hit the shops, catch a Hollywood blockbuster at the cinema or enjoy a flutter in the casino.

And for children there’s a kids’ club with a ball pool and cartoons, a free children’s entertainer and a games room for teenagers.

There is also live music and entertainment in our club, so you’re sure to enjoy your crossing just as much as your time in Newcastle.
